In the last post (Is your ClaudeCode context actually optimised?), I have mentioned the Artifact tool from Claude Code and how it was bloating the System tools.
I stand by what I wrote, but there is a caveat worth mentioning. 💡
The tool is not bad by itself. In fact, is great. The occasion I used it? Could not ask for more, delivered exactly what I had in mind.
But it is one of those cases that one must choose the right tool for the job.
Planning to have a report to share? A dashboard to present with data analyzed during the session? A pool of questions and answers?
→ An artifact, and having that session with the artifact tool enabled is a must! ✅
If you are just changing code and have implemented version control, or have a text to review or write?
→ The artifact will not be used → don’t forget to disable it so that you are bloating the used tokens in your session. ❌
